Released in 1899 by Inazō Nitobe (September 1, 1862 – October 15, 1933), Bushido: The Soul of Japan was Nitobe's attempt at introducing Japanese culture, particularly the samurai code of Bushido, to a western audience. The text has become a classic and has influenced many including Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.
